”I believe that magic is synonymous with what Jung calls "synchronicity." Apparently, I am in good company in making this association, because Carl Jung, himself, has stated as much. In his introduction to the Wilhelm/Baynes edition of the I Ching, Jung says that when we successfully consult this Chinese oracle (which we may consider an act of magic) we are experiencing the principle which he termed "synchronicity."
Synchronicity is defined by Jung as a meaningful coincidence of an external event with a psychic event, such as a dream, fantasy, or thought. These events coincide in time in a way that gives them meaning for the observer. That is, they seem like communications between a divine force and ourselves, and they confirm that there is a connection or interaction between our psyche and physical reality.
Jung gives a personal example of synchronicity in his memoirs, Memories, Dreams, Reflections. First, he describes a dream that leads up to the incident. In the dream, he was introduced, for the first time, to his inner mentor archetype, a wise old man that he called Philemon. Philemon took the form of a Hellenistic Gnostic who wore an ankle-length robe, had a long gray beard, and had the colorful wings of a kingfisher. The following quote describes an event that took place a few days after the dream, while Jung tried to capture Philemon's image in a painting:
During the days when I was occupied with the painting, I found in my garden, by the lakeshore, a dead kingfisher! I was thunderstruck, for kingfishers are quite rare in the vicinity of Zürich and I have never since found a dead one. The body was recently dead - at the most, two or three days - and showed no external injuries.
We can see that the event described had a magical quality for Jung. It might seem that Philemon had sent the kingfisher to Jung to confirm his existence, but Jung feels that these occurrences are not part of a cause and effect relationship. Instead, he insists that they are acausal acts of pure creation. He adds that when synchronicity happens an archetype - such as the internal mentor - is activated, but we should not think of the archetype as causing synchronicity. Synchronicity is simply what happens when the archetype emerges into consciousness. With this, we are breaking with the previous definitions of magic. They all try to define magic as a cause and effect relationship instigated by the magician. This is typical of our culture, which is predisposed to view all events as cause and effect. However, here we are coming to a deeper and more profound view of reality. This is where magic lives and this is why I feel that it is connected to the quest for higher consciousness.”
How I got my name Sunwolf
How I got my magick name SUNWOLF - Nov 14, 2003
"In my Sunwolf dream which was about 1994/1995, I was up in the mountains, at this cabin of a friend for Thanskgiving Dinner. There were about 7 or 8 people there. Half men and half women. The women were in the kitchen finishing the feast.
The men were in the Den, a warm and cozy place. One man was smoking a pipe, cherry smoke.
There was a fireplace and sort of a library, and there was a big picture window.
Next to the man, I gravitated towards, was a stand, lamp, and something that I had to get closer to see. At first I wondered if it was bronzed baby shoes, but suddenly I saw it was two wolf paws, real fur. The man said "Do you know what that is?" I shook my head no. He laughed and said "That is a real set of prehistoric wolf paws."
I was fascinated. I looked closer, it seemed like the fur was moving with the wind, and it was frosty grey. Suddenly, the light from the picture window made it look like rainbow colours in the fur, especially in the tips, and almost like ends of different colored light rods, nano technology. I was getting lucid, the food was smelling fantastic, and I woke up.
I 'knew' that i was on the verge of becoming a wolf in the dream. It was like the paws were a symbol of power. I could feel the sudden surge of energy that came from it. I liked the feeling so much, and the sense of an ancient growth forest, it felt sacred, that I kept the name, Sunwolf, and have had that online ever since.
I am ready to explore this again. After using Sunwolf for 12 years, I have recently, being a Libra, decided to use the name Moonwolf, July of 2007."

The Star Flower Foundation
"The Star Flower Foundation believes that we receive recognition of our inner light from the stars, and directly from within our dreams. We are a networking and healing group, providing a safe, supportive space, and active dreaming tools, to help each of us dream our healing dream, and take the force of good health and peace out into a fearful world." - Ron Adams
The Star Foundation was first conceived from a dream that helped birth Earth First Dream School. We are working together with many other active dreamers to explore the contribution that the Star Flower Foundation can make on a grassroots level, towards the rise of a new cultural dreaming paradigm. We are seeking to network and work with others in an organic way, from within our dreams ourward into waking life. We are here to support one another in creating their own grassroots magick group, share the Lightening Dream Process that Robert Moss teaches, to create local dream teams where we work with Jeremy Taylor’s “if it were my dream,” process.
1. The creation of poetry and music, etc (as suggested by one of Ron's earlier dreams about the Star Foundation)
2. The development of a starter kit for Active Dreamers, helping dreamers from around the world to connect with another, offering games to play with our dreams, or sharing people's dream experiences.
3. The development of tools and games based around the Law of Time and Chronomagick. Tools to actively engage the mind with the planetary consciousness and the harmony of the higher dimensions, and fine tuning the use of our group Telepathy.
4. The development of a magick kit for Active Healers, offering key guidance and images to assist people in undertaking journeys to different places within other dimensions and our own inner shadow work. By facing the shadow, or as Carl Jung called “the enemy within” we embrace this and use this negative energy for personal strength and good.
Supporting the creation of local active dream and magick groups in your area. This is a continuation of my original plans for Oasis Mystery Schools.
